Combined Synopsis and Solicitation Request for Quote #12363N23Q4183

**MUST BE REGISTERED IN SAM (www.sam.gov) TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARD**

Title: Guzzlers to McCloud, CA Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price Award Type: Purchase Order Award Determination: Best Value Place of Performance: Shasta-Trinity National Forest, McCloud RD, CA Period of Performance: Delivery by 7/15/2023 or alternative provided by vendor

In accordance with FAR Part 13, The USDA Forest Service is issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) for six (6) wildlife guzzlers to be delivered to:

McCloud Ranger Station 2019 Forest Rd McCloud, CA 96057

Specifications:

Dimensions: In order for FS personnel to transport from delivery site to installation site, each guzzler will have to be able to fit on a 16 foot flatbed truck and not exceed any specifications that would require an oversize permit. A Categorical Exclusion was also completed as these guzzlers will be larger than the previous ones, which creates a size limit on the footprint guzzlers may occupy after installed.

- Maximum of 8.5 feet wide by 16 feet long

- Installation will result in a subsurface depth of 2 feet or less.

Water capacity: The previous guzzlers that are being replaced ranged in size from 100 gallons to 800 gallons and were unable to provide consistent water access between precipitation events. Multiple trips were made in past summers to refill the guzzlers and there are not enough resources to maintain the current need. The replacement guzzlers we are requesting need to have twice the capacity of our largest guzzlers to keep mechanical refills at a minimum.

- At least 1,500 gallons

Design features:

- Dome top - detachable o For immediate water capture into storage tank to reduce loss by evaporation.

o Removeable for maintenance.

- Drinker with ramp o Contained within the guzzler tank to reduce ground disturbance foot print.

o Ramp to let smaller animals out.

- Made of durable materials that withstand UV rays.

http://www.sam.gov/ o No fiberglass – Guzzlers made of fiberglass that weren’t destroyed by wildfire show sun damage in the form of layers of flaking fibers that are hazardous to FS employees and wildlife.
