About this file
This document is a technical specification for a single self-propelled plot harvester with integrated weighing, sample processing, and online Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) measurement capabilities designed for harvesting forage plants.
The harvester must feature a stable steel tube frame with a double knife cutter bar (1,510 mm cutting width), hydraulically driven reel with two brushes, and conveyor system to transport cut crops to a 1,200-liter weighing hopper with electronic scale (500 kg capacity with 100 g separation). The machine includes a 2.9-liter diesel turbo engine (55 kW/75 HP), permanent hydrostatic four-wheel drive with two speed levels (0–10 km/h and 0–20 km/h), electro-hydraulic braking, and hydrostatic steering. Machine dimensions with cutting unit and cabin are 5,400 x 2,200 x 3,100 mm with approximate weight of 3,400 kg. Electrical system operates on 24V DC with two 72 Ah/12V batteries and 28–35V generator output. The closed cabin includes air conditioning with three-stage blower, radio, wipers, windshield washer, side mirrors, interior lighting, and heating system with two-stage fan. Both driver and operator seats are air-suspended with armrests.
The specification mandates sample handling equipment including a 270 mm sample chopper (approximately 200 kg, 1,500 x 1,420 x 800 mm) with hydraulically driven auger for processing approximately 20 percent of harvested crops and a sample balance with oil-guided weighing cell capable of recording samples up to 5 kg with ±2 gram accuracy. Online NIR measurement requires a dual-beam diode array spectrometer with polychromator, measuring geometry 0°/45° circular, halogen lamp illumination, internal black/white adjustment, vibration protection to 50g, tested process software, and two years of calibration service. A hydraulically driven piston module compresses samples for presentation to the NIRS measuring head, includes an infrared temperature sensor, and operates under 24V DC electrical control. Additional features include track width adjustment (1,300–1,500 mm between tire centers), approximately 270 mm ground clearance, emergency-off button, and harvest process control via compact SPS (Siemens Programmable Logic Controller).
