About this file
This file is a Request for Information (RFI) for Solicitation 1232SA26Q1228 containing 31 questions and answers regarding asbestos abatement and flooring installation at the Bee Research Center.
The project involves removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) from 1,008 square feet of flooring across seven designated offices (150, 151, 152, 109, 109A, 110, 111) and installation of replacement flooring. The contractor must provide Shaw Philadelphia Style carpet tiles (or equal) and AHF Style Imperial Texture vinyl (or equal), with colors to be determined from samples provided by the contractor. The contractor is responsible for procuring all flooring materials, baseboard, adhesive, and glue. Work must be performed Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the option for partial hallway shutdowns (6-8 feet maximum) with 24-hour notice and exclusive front door access during 24-48 hour loadout periods. The government will clear rooms and return furniture, computers, and equipment post-installation. The existing asbestos survey and testing report is available from Southwest Hazard Control (Tucson Office: 520-622-3607). The concrete subfloor has a basement below; slab thickness is unknown but at least one foot. Following asbestos removal, an RFI must be submitted if additional concrete repairs or leveling are needed, which will be handled under FAR clause 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions. Air quality testing by the abatement company is required before rooms are released. The seven offices may be worked in groups rather than simultaneously, with the schedule to be determined upon contract award. VCT must be finished with wax and seal. Past performance references from federal agencies or commercial clients of similar size, scope, function, and complexity from the last three years are acceptable to satisfy experience requirements.
