About this file
This is a Requirements/System Specifications Document for the procurement of two fiber-to-yarn processing systems: one research-grade roving frame and one research-grade rotor spinning frame designed to support laboratory-scale and pilot-scale fiber processing for cotton and alternative fibers.
The roving frame must include a minimum of 100 spindles (preferably matching the quoted 120 spindles), an adjustable drafting system suitable for cotton fiber research, a PLC-based or modern touchscreen control interface, automatic doffing capability, and spindle and drafting monitoring capabilities equivalent to Pinter Caipo monitoring systems. The rotor spinning frame must provide at least 20 spinning positions with an adjustable rotor spinning module featuring rotor speed, drafting, and twist-insertion controls; a yarn take-up system comparable to tube take-up units; a waxing system equivalent to the quoted equipment; yarn quality monitoring equivalent to Uster Quantum Clearers; and an efficient built-in single-piecer system for piecing. Both machines must operate on 480 V power as specified in the vendor quotation and be suitable for continuous laboratory operation in a pilot-plant environment. Systems must utilize commercially available parts and be maintainable through standard service providers.
