About this file
The file contains specifications for a benchtop DNA sequencer sought by the United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service through a small business set-aside solicitation (Number 1232SA25Q0872). The sequencer must meet specific technical requirements, including producing >20kb reads from high molecular weight DNA, supporting genome assembly and diversity analysis pipelines, and generating reads covering large complex grass genomes (5GB) at 5-10x coverage.
The solicitation is for a commercial sequencer to be delivered to Washington State University's Plant Germplasm Introduction facility in Pullman, WA. The procurement will be awarded using a Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation method, with a preference for a domestic end-product. The contract is classified under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The sequencer must be compact (not exceeding 500m x 500m), include cloud-based support and training, and be compatible with existing laboratory workflows.
