About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity related to the provision of Performance Maintenance with Full Repair Service Plan for a UPLC/MS/MS instrument (Xevo TQ-S micro) at the USDA's Northeast Area Dairy and Functional Foods Research Unit.
The SOW indicates that the USDA requires a UPLC/MS/MS instrument (Xevo TQ-S micro) trained/certified engineer to provide performance maintenance and full repair service plan for this instrument, which is used by the DFFRU scientists to conduct complex studies on the gut microbiota. The SOW outlines the specific requirements, including replacement of wear parts, calibration, qualification, and instrument/software upgrades, as well as full repair service for the contract period. The related federal contract opportunity is a sources sought announcement seeking responses from qualified contractors capable of providing the required services. Responses are due by September 9th at 10am EST, but this is for information and planning purposes only, and no contract will be awarded based solely on the responses.

Statement of Work
Background The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Northeast Area (NEA) Dairy and Functional Foods Research Unit (DFFRU) at the Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) in Wyndmoor, PA requires a UPLC/MS/MS instrument (Xevo TQ-S micro) trained/certified engineer to provide Performance Maintenance with Full Repair Service Plan.
The DFFRU scientists perform complex studies to identify and quantify the metabolites using this instrument while understanding how diet impacts the gut microbiota. Each study produces hundreds of samples that require to compare how the bacterial and fungal communities change over the course of a change in diet or treatment. Whereas this instrument requires very small amount of samples and provides the DFFRU scientists with timely and accurate analysis data within a very short period of time.
Interests Scientists from the ERRC are interested in evaluation of the structural change in the gut microbial ecosystem in response to food, nutrition, and environmental stimuli, using next generation DNA sequencing technology and bioinformatics analysis.
What the DFFRU will do We will prepare samples of metabolites like- SCFAs, amino acids and bile acids profiles to identify and quantify them using the UPLCMS/MS instrument and to study the diet impacts on the gut microbiota from the data generated.
What The Contractor will do
• At the time of PM service, a UPLC/MS/MS instrument (Xevo TQ-S micro) trained/certified engineer will replace all parts subject to wear as defined in the product specific PM checklist.
• All parts will be guaranteed genuine manufacturer quality parts and are included in a comprehensive PM parts kit.
• Requirements also include Calibration (Cal) which consists of a single point test which serves as a check of instrument performance, and Qualification (Qual) which includes more comprehensive component level testing (Operational Qualification or OQ), and system level testing (Performance Qualification or PQ), and Instrument and software upgrade.
• The requirements also include full repair service for the whole year on any additional service required during the contract period.
• The service plan guarantees prompt repair/maintenance service with high quality when any repair is needed.
• Performance Maintenance Plan (PMP) with one PM for the following:
Serial # Description 176600010 HClass_PDA_ELSD_WFC 1PM 12M
