Request for Information (RFI) Questions and Answers
Solicitation 12305B24Q0146
Autoclave lab equip (supply)
Answers are in Red:
1. The bid states a “manual operated vertical sliding door.” Will you accept an automatic vertical sliding door, with built-in safety devices? Our automatic vertical sliding door is used in thousands of facilities, worldwide.
Yes
2. Can “house air” (90 PSI minimum) be made available at the autoclave location?
No
3. The bid lists an “Allen-Bradley MicroLogix (TM) control system” and “A-B PanelView Plus (TM) 600 interface screen.” These are very specific requirements, provided on a limited number of manufacturer’s autoclave lines. With this being said, and to foster a competitive bid procurement, will you accept a different microprocessor control and interface screen, with equivalent capability, in lieu of the Allen-Bradley?
4. Our door seal is activated by compressed air in lieu of steam, which offers a much longer gasket life and is often preferred by customers. Please confirm an air activated door seal would be acceptable.
No
5. Is there a truck-level loading dock on site or will a lift-gate delivery be required?
6. Please confirm the US Dept of Agriculture MCFPRU can receive and unload the autoclave, upon delivery. Or should receiving/unloading be included, as part of the vendor’s scope of work?
Yes
7. Is there a forklift on site that could be made available, to assist in the receiving/unloading process?
8. Will the autoclave be installed on the ground floor? If not, is an elevator available for transport to its final location?
9. If an elevator is required for transport, can you confirm its door opening size, internal cab dimensions and weight limit?
N/A
10. Are there any obstacles in the pathway to the autoclave’s final location, including hallways less than 5 feet in width? Any other obstacles, such as stairs, ledges, tight turns, etc.?
11. What is the smallest doorway size in the pathway to the autoclave’s final location?
72 in wide x 83 in height
12. Since you are requesting a trade-in credit, please confirm you want the autoclave vendor to de-install the existing autoclave and provide off-site removal and disposal.
Yes
13. Can a dimensioned drawing of the autoclave room (and room photos, if available) be made available? This information would be critical to have, prior to bidding, to ensure a proper fit and verify there is adequate space for service access. It is especially important in this case, since you appear to want the autoclave vendor to also include de-installation/removal/disposal of an existing autoclave.
N/A
14. Equipment to be traded in:
STERIS Sterilizer. Product # SF5213011110000000. AMSCO® 250LS Small Steam Sterilizer, 20" x 20" x 38" (508 x 508 x965 mm).
15. Does the facility have a house steam supply, or would the unit need integral steam generator?
Facility has an in house steam supply.
