Questions and Responses to the Solicitation
Question 1: For the Argon 180 liter dewar you specify a “wheel kit”. I am attaching 2 PDF files of what I believe you are looking for. Can you let me know if I am on the right track, and if not please have then send me a photo of what they are currently using?
USDA Response 1: The current Argon cylinders are not government-owned. The contractor should provide an appropriate wheel kit for the cylinders being used in the performance of the contract.
Question 2: Regarding the following item-
Is it correct that they are looking to have the dewars picked up, filled, and delivered the next day? Or do they mean the next week. I only ask because going to the lab 2 days in a row is not logistically efficient. It would be much easier from a supplier side to add additional dewars into the rotation, and allow for delivery and pickup on the same trip only once a week.
USDA Response 2: The requirements for pickup and delivery remain unchanged.
Question 3: Regarding the “Security and Delivery Requirements”. I understand that nobody can ride in the elevator with the liquid vessels. I am trying to figure out if I will need to send 2 delivery drivers, or if the delivery driver can take the stairs and meet the elevator on the floor where they are sending it. Or if there is a staff person available to receive the elevator on the desired floor. It appears to only be a 3 story building.
USDA Response 3: Currently, the delivery is being performed by one person.
