About this file

This is a Statement of Objectives and Technical Specification document for a dual-temperature food transport cart solicitation (Number 1210025) issued by the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons for the Tallahassee facility. The government requires a new, commercial-grade, heavy-duty cart designed for correctional or high-volume institutional food service environments capable of transporting both heated and refrigerated food products simultaneously.

The cart must feature stainless steel construction with minimum 18-gauge exterior surfaces and 16-gauge reinforced base frame with ground and polished welds, reinforced corners suitable for correctional environments, and tamper-resistant fasteners. Approximate dimensions are 75 inches in height, 57.5 to 58 inches in width, and 29 inches in depth, with capacity for approximately 120 segmented institutional trays with shelving or 168 trays without shelves using removable stainless steel shelving assemblies. The unit shall include an integrated refrigeration system and removable or serviceable heated compartment with insulated separation between zones, maintaining safe hot and cold holding temperatures. Electrical specifications require 120-volt operation at approximately 1,800 watts and 15 amps with NEMA 5-20P compatible plug configuration. Additional components include double-panel insulated doors opening approximately 270 degrees with lockable latches and magnetic closures, digital temperature controls with recessed panel, recessed side handles, minimum one-inch high-density insulation on all surfaces, six heavy-duty multi-terrain casters with swivel and rigid combinations (minimum 6-inch diameter) with braking capability, and full perimeter non-marking bumpers. The contractor shall provide a minimum one-year manufacturer warranty covering parts and labor, with delivery location and timeline specified in the solicitation schedule.
