1205GG18Q0018 Attachment B Range Improvement Materials Material Specifications

Materials specifications for Range Improvements

Eastern Washington has hot dry weather conditions in the summer and cold winters with below freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall at times. Water troughs need to be light enough for two people to hand carry the tank for placement in locations a distance away from access roadways.

Inside Dimensions for 10’ troughs: 4’ wide X 10’ long X 22” high 500 gallon capacity Inside Dimensions for 8’ long troughs: 4’ wide X 8’ long X 22” high .080 thick Aluminum 5052 plate Heavy duty top lip for strength Minimum 400 Gallon Capacity Maximum Weight 150lbs Written limited 5 year warranty from the date of purchase against leakage due to defects in material or workmanship The troughs shall be constructed of aluminum to ensure that they do not rust and fail. The troughs shall have a taper from top to bottom which allows for ice expansion without breaking the troughs. A 4 inch taper is preferred from the top edge to the bottom of the trough. The top lip of the trough must be reinforced to ensure that livestock will not collapse or bend the trough sides. The water troughs must have four 1 ½ inch aluminum threaded pipe fittings welded into the trough with one on each end in the bottom of the trough and one in each end on the top, or lip of the trough.

Examples would be Backwoods watering troughs www.watertroughs.com or RDF Aluminum Troughs www.rdftroughs.com

The wildlife escape ramps will need to be constructed of aluminum also and provide coverage on two sides of the water trough. They are triangular in shape. They must be able to be attached and fit firmly and snugly to the water trough so that small mammals and birds cannot get behind the escape ramp. They do not need to be hinged, but rather attach rigidly to the upper lip of the trough with screws.

For treated posts, a preservative should penetrate radically at least 0.75 inch. Commercially pressure-treated posts usually meet this standard.

Gates:

Heavy Duty six rail All 16 gauge tubing Verticle bracing Premium powder coat paint and full baked polyester powder coating finish Hinges, screw hooks and a snap chain latch included.

Examples: Behlen/Farmaster or Sioux Steel’s Victory Gates http://www.watertroughs.com/ http://www.rdftroughs.com/
