Questions and Answers from the Sisters Janitorial Site Visit on 03/08/2018
Q - Do we have to set up a time at the Sisters Ranger District to come in and clean or just between the hours of 6:00pm to 6:30 am, Sunday anytime?
A - You have leeway to set up the times you want to work between the hours and days designated. I would suggest that you let the CO/COR know so if our Law Enforcement Folks saw folks going into the buildings late at night they wouldn’t come and arrest you.
Q - What about Oregon vs Federal Wages?
A - You are working in a Federal Building on Federal Property, so this contract is Governed by the USDOL (United States Department of Labor) wage rates under the Service Contract Act. Please look through and read the attached Wage Determination in the Solicitation.
Q - Someone asked about the carpet in the bunkhouse 1037.
A - The carpet has just been removed and hardwood floors are under the carpet. So you will be cleaning hardwood floors in bunkhouse 1037.
Q - Someone asked about the bathroom in the Building Maintenance/Wellness Exercise Area.
A - The bathroom and the shower in the changing room could potentially be shut down and winterized when the cold weather sets in. Since we can’t predict the weather, for this exercise let’s assume that they are closed from November 1 to April 1 each year. This will be weather driven.
Q – Someone asked about the background checks and if they could start work before they are completed?
A – Read page 25 in the contract the first 4 paragraphs. “If none of the contract employees, have background checks at contract start, they will be allowed to enter the building ONLY after having provided proof of a criminal investigation check (fingerprint check) for each employee entering the building”. Call your local police department or courthouse to find out the specific fees and requirements for obtaining a background check. In most cases, you will need two forms of picture ID, an authorization form from your employee and a fingerprint card.
