Definitions:

WBP – White Bark Pine PP – Ponderosa Pine WP – White Pine WL – Western Larch

Bushel Measurement: A standard one bushel-measure should be used to measure cones. A U.S. standard bushel contains 2,150 cubic inches or equal to eight U.S. standard dry gallons. A box that is 12 inches x 12 inches x 15 inches equals 2,160 cubic inches.

Quantity: Quantities shown are estimates only. Actual quantities will be specified at the time of award and are dependent on budgets, physiological development of plant materials, and availability of Government personnel to administer this work.

Quantity of Measure: Cone quantity shall be measured to the nearest ¼ bushel. Cones that do not meet the requirements identified under the Technical Specifications of this contract will not be included in the measurement.

No-Climbing Price: The price that will be paid for each tree that was reasonably searched for and not found, or was found but not climbed, due to no pollen, no cones, or other reasons. Trees may be removed from the list of trees to collect from by the Forest Service contact person, before any effort is expended, with no price paid.

Specialized Hourly Services: A flat rate per hour to be paid for each worker ordered by the Government to complete tree improvement tasks at the Tree Improvement Areas (TIA). See Technical Specifications for more details regarding the tasks.

Unit Bushel Price: The unit bushel price will be paid to the nearest ¼ bushel of cones.

Unit Tree Price: The unit tree price will be paid for each tree located, climbed and collected from. Trees may be removed from the list of trees to collect from by the Forest Service contact person, before any effort is expended, with no price paid.

Walk-in: Vehicle access to some trees may be limited or prohibited and access by some combination of ATV/UTV and walking may be required. Payment will not be made for walk-ins of ¼ mile or less one way.

Costs for getting to the work sites and moving between locations will be considered incidental to the ordered work, therefore the Contractor must consider this expense in the pricing.

Basis of Award: Award will be made by Forest and Items. The Government may make one or multiple awards under this solicitation. Quoters may quote on one item, some of the items or all of the items for one or both Forests and limit the total amount of work the Quoter could accept.
