About this file
This is a clarification sheet documenting typos and conflicting information within the Water Handling solicitation (1202SB25Q7002) for Regions 3 and 8 that will be corrected via administrative modification once onboarding and rollover modifications are reviewed and signed. The clarification addresses three specific corrections: (1) D.2.1.2 Equipment Requirement for Wildland Engines Type 3 minimum standards, where the rated pressure specification will be updated from 25 psi to 250 psi; (2) the Engine Minimum Equipment Inventory List, where "1 inch" Hose will be added to clarify the specification; and (3) conflicting language in section D.2.1.2(c) regarding chainsaw usage limitations, where a highlighted portion containing conflicting direction will be removed to establish clear parameters that chainsaws may be used for bucking, limbing, and brush cutting in low to moderate complexity situations and incidental falling in low complexity situations only, but shall not be used for tree felling operations, brush pile compilation, or line cutting by engine crews.
These corrections will be implemented through administrative modification once the current agreement modifications are finalized and signed by appropriate parties. The clarifications ensure alignment between equipment specifications and operational procedures for water handling resources supporting the Forest Service's Virtual Incident Procurement Incident Blanket Purchase Agreement across Regions 3 and 8, which covers fire suppression, all-hazard incidents, and prescribed project work.
