1202SA22R9500 Pratt & Whitney Engine Maintenance Questions and Answers

Q1: Schedule B, CLIN 0001AV asks for the % of new parts off the list price however the footnote indicates that ‘all parts and subcontracted services shall be paid for at a maximum of actual cost plus the percentage indicated to cover material handling charges’. Can you please clarify whether the % provided will be a discount from the OEM price catalogue or pricing will be a cost plus the % indicated?

A1: The percentage provided will be a discount off of the list price. The footnote will be corrected to reflect a List -Less Percentage rather than a Cost-Plus Percentage.

Q2: Will USFS technicians be removing the hot section parts and sending them to the P&WES shop and then reinstalling? Or will the USFS rely on P&WES technicians to travel and perform the HSI part removals and re-installation?

A2: Yes, contractor technicians will perform the HIS part removal and installation.

Q3: When an engine is due for Overhaul, same question. Will USFS technicians be performing engine removal and reinstallations? Or will P&WES technicians be traveling and performing the engine removals and reinstallations?

A3: Routine Engine removal and installation due to Overhaul will be performed by USFS technicians in most cases. We would like to retain the option for the contractor technicians to perform the removal and installation when determined at the Task Order level.

Q4: Five years ago the USFS solicitation listed the PT6A-65’s as the ‘R’ model. This solicitation stated all of the PT6A-65s are the ‘AR’ model. Please confirm the engines are PT6A-65 ‘AR’ model now.

A4: The engines are confirmed to be PT6A-65”AR”. Those were errors in the last solicitation.
