Micah Kruse Contract Execution Checklist 03 June 2015 ICS 100 and 700 are completed outside of this event by participants, and have not been considered part of this evolution. S-130 and S-190 are the core requirements we're seeking. Testing needs to be done in a paper format, and completion verified by the solicitor.
Ratio of student to instructor needs to be such that learning is maximized. Historically, NG has utilized a 20:1 ratio.
Classrooms will be available, along with projectors, but solicitor must provide computers and course material.
Rational behind using IAP vice a syllabus and curriculum is to introduce students to the document, and give them experience using it prior to arriving at a Fire Camp
We do use segments, and thus this solicitation is for the S-130 and S-190 portions. Refresher training will be handled in a separate evolution, and all trainee's in this event will need initial certification.
Solicitor will need to provide PPE to include gloves, helmets, fire packs, training shelters, eye protection, hearing protection, and "yellows and greens". Government will provide boots. Sizes can be provided at solicitor request.

In accordance with the NWCG requirements for Firefighter II training, the following courses are considered the basic courses: ICS 100, L-180, S-130, S-190 and IS-700.

Cell1: The solicitation stated 350 individuals may attend the courses. What is the expected ratio of student to instructor? We believe that a 12 to 1 ratio is ideal to conduct adult learning. Our instructors are professional first responders and instructors that have extensive experience teaching both civilians and military personnel.

Cell1: Do you have a classroom that can accommodate 350 individuals plus instructors with the proper visuals and sound media?

Cell1: While I am educated in the Incident Action Plan and the content of the information during emergencies, I am requesting a better explanation on the 5.1.2. Action Plan for the training period. As an emergency responder with over 24 years of experience and a Department Chair for a Fire Science Program, I do not understand the rational between the Incident Action Plan and how you would want that to cover the period of performance. In academia, course content is provided within a syllabus and a curriculum. Within the curriculum, you would see the safety brief, course content broken by day, hour, instructor, materials, references, policies and procedures, and any other concern that could/should be addressed. Incident Action Plans are used to support the NIMS during any size of emergency up to 50,000 first responders. Are you stating that you want the ICS form to replace what a syllabus and a curriculum would have?
