PROJECT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
A. Project Goals – To provide opportunities for youth to receive hands-on training at
Tomaquag Museum, Roger Williams National Memorial and associated sites that develop their work skills and will encourage them to become involved in cultural and/or historical resource protection of their communities and beyond. such as working with volunteers, developing and coordinating events, learn about different cultures, gain leadership skills though training sessions, and complete a major media project. They will also work with staff from the RI Foundation and Roger
Williams University to create a Personal Development Work Plan designed to ensure that each intern is as competitive as possible for future job, college and scholarship applications. The interns’ work expands the public outreach and educational programming that would otherwise not be available under the current staffing levels at the Tomaquag Museum and the National Memorial.
