These lifting fixtures are manufactured by Enerpac to specifically lift Enerpac jack cylinders, model: RR15013. C/740 uses these jacks for refueling evolutions specifically. We started purchasing these lifting fixtures a few years ago when C/2370 (nuclear engineering, lifting and handling department) realized riggers were lifting these jacks using manual labor while maintaining them in the shop and transporting them to the jobsite, not with a crane. Since they weigh 275 lb., this is unacceptable because it provides a high risk for injury.
Many rigging techniques with in house rigging gear were tried to safely lift the jacks individually with crane support but due to the cylindrical shape and risk of damaging the threads on the jacks, a manufacturer designed fixture was needed. We purchased a smaller quantity in 2019 to make sure they were the correct solution. Now that they’re a proven necessary piece of equipment, now we need to purchase a fixture for each jack in our inventory.
Since these fixtures are specifically made by the jack manufacturer to fit and lift the specific make and model jack, the distributor must provide this specific part number fixture for C/740 to accept the material.
The requested material or service represents the minimum requirements of the government
CHECK & FILL IN ALL APPLICABLE BLANKS BELOW
_ X The material/service must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit and function) with existing systems presently installed. Justi Describe the equipment you have now and how the new item/service must coordinate, connect, or interface with the existing system.
PSNS M140 jacking systems include Enerpac RR15013 cylinders, so the fixtures needed to lift them and transport them must be made specifically to lift them. C/2370 requires C/740 riggers to use these fixtures anytime a jack is moved in refueling or jack maintenance work. We have since realized we do not have enough fixtures to work multiple jacks at the same time since each fixture must stay with a jack when it is checked out for use.
A patent, copyright, or proprietary data limits competition. The proprietary data is:
These are “direct replacements” parts/components for existing brand name equipment.
