About this file
This is an employee resources information packet from the Oregon State Police (OSP) Health, Wellness, and Resiliency (HWR) Unit detailing available support services and programs for OSP employees. The packet outlines four main resource areas: Canopy Employee Assistance Program (EAP), the Resilience Team, Y-Drive resources, and the HWR Unit. The EAP provides free and confidential services including mental health counseling, crisis support, financial coaching, legal guidance, and life coaching. The Resilience Team offers proactive peer support, confidential conversations, and coordinated assistance through chaplains and mental health professionals.
The packet details specific service offerings including five counseling sessions per incident through EAP, 24/7/365 crisis counseling availability, and unlimited financial coaching. The Resilience Team operates under confidentiality per ORS 181A.835 and includes trained peer support personnel, volunteer chaplains, and contracted mental health professionals vetted specifically for first responder needs. Resources are accessible through multiple channels including an email address (osphwr@osp.oregon.gov), a Y-Drive directory, and direct contact numbers for program coordinators Cale Day (541-228-7535) and Maddie Knuth (503-509-4574). The program focuses on three core areas: mental wellness, physical health, and personal resilience to build a resilient OSP workforce.

PEER SUPPORT
The Resilience Team is made up of many OSP employees spread out all throughout the state. CHAPLAINS
All Resilience Team chaplains are volunteers, ready to assist and serve you, your team, your family, and the public. They act in the capacity of crisis response, not religious ministry, unless requested by the individual. Our Chaplains are available to anyone who is struggling, needing to off-load, assistance on scene for defusing situations, provide support for death notifications, and more.
MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
Resilience Team MHPs have been vetted as culturally competent to work with first responders and are contracted through OSP. Our MHPs are available for CISD’s, 1-on-1 counseling, SB111 check-ins, and assessment and referrals to other mental health services. When you contact them, be sure to say who you are, that you work for OSP, and describe why you are calling. There may be wait times.
