About this file

Supporting Documentation for Request for Information – Verkada CCTV System

This is a supporting documentation file for a Request for Information (RFI) issued by a Florida county regarding a Notice of Intent to Designate Sole Brand/Sole Source for a Verkada CCTV System. The RFI is intended to determine whether the specified commodity or service is available from multiple providers or if alternative solutions exist that would meet the county's requirements. This is explicitly not a request for pricing or a purchase commitment. The county seeks information on a Verkada CCTV system that provides up to 365 days of continuous on-camera video storage without external servers or Network Video Recorders (NVRs), operates in offline mode to enable live streaming and core functionalities during network outages, and utilizes patented end-to-end encryption for physical security data protection. The system includes additional features such as patented live face blur technology for real-time privacy protection, enhanced encryption for facial data, 4K dome cameras with infrared LED isolation, and a comprehensive ecosystem with native integration across video security, access control, environmental sensors, alarms, visitor management, video door intercoms, and cellular connectivity. The RFI remains posted until a specified closing date and time.

Prospective vendors are invited to submit responses through the county's electronic bidding system, including supporting documentation demonstrating their capability to meet or exceed the county's requirements or providing written explanations contesting the proposed sole brand designation. The Director of Purchasing retains sole authority to determine whether submitted alternatives are comparable, available from multiple suppliers, and meet county needs. The Director shall notify all submitting vendors of the final decision regarding sole source or sole brand designation through the electronic bidding system. No single source designation for Federal Labor Locator (FLL) applies, no market survey is required, and no additional special instructions are specified.

The Director of Purchasing shall have sole authority in deciding what is comparable.

The Director of Purchasing shall consider such submittals and notify all submitting vendors (thru the electronic bidding system) of the decision whether to designate as a Sole Source/Brand, which decision shall not be subject to objection, protest, or appeal.
