About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) supporting documentation for a sole brand designation issued by a Florida county for the Genea Security Access Control System. The RFI is a Notice of Intent to Designate Sole Brand intended to determine whether the specified commodity is available from multiple providers or if an alternate product would meet the county's needs. This is not a request for pricing or a purchase commitment. The county seeks information from prospective vendors regarding their ability to provide the Genea system or documentation contesting the proposed sole brand designation. Vendors capable of meeting or exceeding the county's requirements are invited to respond through the electronic bidding system with supporting information to assist the county in determining if the commodity is comparable, available from multiple suppliers, and meets operational needs. The Director of Purchasing retains sole authority to decide what is deemed comparable and whether to designate the product as sole source or sole brand, with such decisions not subject to objection, protest, or appeal.
The Genea Security Access Control System is specified for integration with the airport's existing legacy security infrastructure, including direct integration with airport access badges, Amico brand readers for biometric functions, Cisco Meraki cameras at security checkpoints, Splunk SIEM, and OpenEye on-premise network video recorder systems. The system is designed as non-proprietary and hardware-independent to allow future vendor switching without software replacement, offers native cloud-based functionality with on-premise backup capability, provides non-disruptive software upgrades, supports scalability for future airport expansions, and delivers fine-grained user and group-based access control with real-time alerting. No pricing information, contract term, renewal options, set-asides, or other financial details are included in the supporting documentation.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Genea Security Access Control System
A. Sole Brand or Sole Source Designation This Request for Information (RFI) Notice of Intent to Designate Sole Brand is to determine if the specified commodity or service is available from multiple providers, or if an alternate commodity or service is available that would meet the County’s needs. This is not a request for pricing or a purchase commitment.
The following commodity or service is thought to be available only as a sole brand and is the only commodity/service that meets the County’s needs:
Genea Security Access Control System:
• Integrates directly with the airport's existing legacy security badges.
• Field-tested and verified within an airport's environment.
• Supports the specific Amico brand readers required to read existing airport access cards and perform biometric functions.
• Integrates natively with the existing Cisco Meraki cameras deployed at the airport's security checkpoints.
• Integrates seamlessly with the airport's existing security stack, including Splunk SIEM and OpenEye on-premise NVR systems.
• Built as a non-proprietary and hardware-independent system, allowing the airport to switch hardware vendors in the future without replacing the central management software.
• Natively cloud-based, enabling seamless transition to backup locations for disaster recovery without moving physical hardware.
• Provides non-disruptive software upgrades that prevent system downtime during critical airport security functions.
• Scales to support future airport expansions without requiring additional hardware expansion or infrastructure replacement.
• Combines cloud agility with on-premise backup to provide fine-grained, user- and group-based access control with real-time alerting.
This RFI will remain posted until closing date and time.
Prospective Vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to provide the commodity or service described or written explanation or other documentation contesting the proposed RFI designation.
If you are capable of meeting or exceeding the County’s requirements for the specified commodity or service, respond to this RFI through the electronic bidding system. Vendor should upload any supporting information in the electronic bidding system as part of its response to assist the County in determining if commodity or service is comparable, is available from multiple suppliers, and meets the County’s needs. The Director of Purchasing shall have sole authority in deciding what is comparable.
The Director of Purchasing shall consider such submittals and notify all submitting vendors (thru the electronic bidding system) of the decision whether to designate as a Sole Source/Brand, which decision shall not be subject to objection, protest, or appeal.
