About this file
This document is a Property Insurance Coverage Proposal Questionnaire for the City of Houston, detailing a comprehensive insurance policy request. The proposal seeks property insurance coverage with a total insured value of $540,941,130 and a requested loss limit of $100,000,000. The policy term is annual, effective from 10-01-26, with specific deductibles for various perils including flood ($100,000 non-SFHA, $500,000 SFHA), convective storm/hail (1% per unit with a $2,500,000 minimum), and all other perils ($100,000). The document includes multiple sections requesting detailed information about premium adjustments, coverage specifics, claim services, and general policy conditions.
The proposal includes several key financial and coverage considerations, such as potential multi-year guaranteed rate options, premium adjustment mechanisms for property value changes, and specific coverage requirements like waiving coinsurance, covering property of others, and maintaining coverage for newly acquired locations. The insurance seeks to provide comprehensive protection for the city's assets, including provisions for historical buildings, electronic data processing equipment, and properties under the city's care and control. The questionnaire allows insurance providers to detail their specific offerings, with additional consideration given to proposals that provide coverage beyond the minimum requirements specified in the document.
