About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the replacement of a Marioff High Pressure Water Mist System at the Yosemite Valley Museum/District Ranger Office, a 1924 building housing valuable museum collections and research library. The National Park Service requires a complete system replacement, including replacing all nitrogen hoses, recertifying and hydro-testing nitrogen tanks, and installing a new jockey pump. The contractor must perform pressure tests to ensure system functionality in compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and provide a passed inspection report.

Additional project considerations include significant hauling restrictions, with vehicles over 45 feet prohibited and one-way controlled traffic in effect 20 miles east of Mariposa County due to ongoing rockslide repairs. The project is critical for protecting the building, its contents, staff, and visitors from potential fire damage, with the Marioff High Pressure Water Mist System being uniquely suited for collections storage protection. The point of contact for this project is Stephanie Bartholomew, Facility Operations Specialist, who can be reached at 209-379-1054.
