1.1.0 Details of Installation:
There are six zones of loudspeakers in this system.
1) Main Left Array (to be installed by ASC)
2) Main Right Array (to be installed by ASC)
3) Center Cluster (to be installed by ASC)
4) Front Fill speakers (to be installed by USCGA Public Works under ASC supervision)
5) Under-Balcony Delays (to be installed by USCGA Public Works under ASC supervision)
6) Over-Balcony Delays (to be installed by USCGA Public Works under ASC supervision)
Two Meyer Galaxy 816 processors provide processing for all speakers. Galaxy #1 will be located in the catwalk above the stage and provide signal to zones 1 through 4. Galaxy #2 will be located in the projector room behind the balcony, and provide signal to zones 5 & 6. Both processors will need to be networked together for full control at two different locations: Main floor FOH position, and Balcony Projector/Equipment Room. Each processor requires audio and control input from two different mixing sources: a console located at the main floor FOH position, and a console located in the Balcony Sound Booth.
1.1.1 ZONES 1 & 2: MAIN LEFT AND RIGHT SPEAKER HANG - 16 (8 per side) Meyer Leopards - Leopard Datasheet - Leopard Operating Instructions The 16 Meyer Leopard Boxes and 2 of the Meyer Leopard Top Grids are to be hung (eight boxes per side under one top grid each) under the far left and right edges of the Leamy Hall proscenium (see figure 1). ASC will acquire motors, structural rigging, and engineering stamp from a licensed structural engineering firm to hang the arrays from the roof of Leamy Hall. Each side will be rigged by two hang points and two chain motors attached to the roof superstructure of Leamy Hall. This will require cutting two holes in the far left and right of the proscenium, with appropriate top-hats constructed by the ASC for rigging and signal pass-through. Signal and power will be run to a central location in the catwalk. Power connections will come from a central catwalk power box with existing NL-3 terminations for each array -- one termination per two speakers. ASC will install a catwalk-mounted rack for the processor and associated rack power, and terminate signal for all loudspeakers to that rack.
1.1.2 ZONE 3: TOP CENTER CLUSTER - 3 Meyer 900-LFC’s and 1 Meyer UPQ-D3 - 900-LFC Datasheet - 900-LFC Operating Instructions - UPQ Datasheet - UPQ Operating Instructions : Demolition: The ASC will remove two existing subwoofers and four small speakers from the catwalk proscenium opening. These are hung on the existing structure with aircraft cable. ASC will replace them with three horizontal subwoofers (900-LFC) in cardioid formation with corresponding top grids, and one underhung UPQ center speaker. ASC will provide new aircraft cable / rigging as appropriate. Power and signal will be run as described above.
1.1.3 ZONE 4: Front-fill Speakers and associated cabling will be installed and run by USCGA Public Works. The signal and low-voltage power cable will be run to the vicinity of the central catwalk rack and terminated by the ASC to the Meyer MPS-488HP in that location. ASC will supervise the installation of these speakers and cable runs, and must coordinate with GC to be available when USCGA Public Works decides to execute this work.
1.1.4 ZONES 5 & 6: The six under-balcony speakers and four over-balcony speakers and all associated cabling will be installed and run by USCGA Public Works. The signal and low-voltage power cable will be run to the equipment rack in the balcony projector room and terminated by the ASC to the two Meyer MPS-488HPs in that location. ASC will supervise the installation of these speakers and cable runs, and must coordinate with GC to be available when USCGA Public Works decides to execute this work.
1.1.5 Additional Equipment: Additionally, ASC will provide network switches and audio converters to allow for full system control from two locations: Main Floor FOH and Balcony Sound Booth. Structural steel and hang points will need to be certified by a licenced and bonded engineering firm.
