STATEMENT OF WORK

1) BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Laboratory of Immune System Biology (LISB) enables intramural NIAID investigators to use state-of-the art instruments in their research programs. The equipment needs to be updated periodically and its mechanical parts maintained. This instrument need frequent recalibration and is very sensitive while also needing insured OEM replacement parts. This instrument is constantly in use 24/7 and if it were put out of action due to lack of maintenance or mechanical failure the ability of the investigators in the DIR to conduct their research would be severely handicapped. It is for this reason that a maintenance agreement is essential from this sole distributor.
