About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a maintenance agreement for the ImageXpress Micro Confocal high-content imaging system owned by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).

The SOW outlines the requirements for a preventative maintenance agreement, including at least one annual inspection and unlimited emergency repair service by a factory-trained field service representative. The agreement will cover a base year from 11/21/2024 to 11/20/2025, with two one-year option periods. The contractor will provide parts, labor, and travel at no additional cost to the government, excluding consumable parts. The contractor must also provide software updates, technical support, and one scheduled preventative maintenance visit per year.

The related federal contract opportunity is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole-source contract with Molecular Devices LLC for the maintenance agreement. The contract will have a base year and two option years. NIEHS is the procuring agency. Any responsible source capable of meeting the requirements may submit a capability statement by 9/5/2024.

MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR MOLECULAR DEVICES IMAGE EXPRESS MICROCONFOCAL

HIGH-CONTENT IMAGING SYSTEM STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Introduction: This is a maintenance agreement for our ImageXpress Micro Confocal instrument built by Molecular Devices.

1.1. Background: The ImageXpress Micro Confocal system is a high-content solution that can switch between wide-field and confocal imaging of fixed and live cells. This instrument is unique in its ability to employ a wide dynamic working range in multiple imaging modes to capture high quality images of 2D and 3D models, and cellular or intracellular events. The spinning disk confocal and camera enable imaging of fast and rare events like cardiac cell beating and stem cell differentiation. The system enables many confocal imaging applications from 3D assay development to screening capabilities for the Mechanistic Toxicology Branch (MTB).

1.2. Scope: This statement of work will be used to execute a preventative maintenance agreement including inspections by a factory trained field service technician once a year during the contract period.

1.3. Objectives: The ImageXpress system enables many confocal imaging applications from

3D assay development to screening capabilities for the MTB. The requested maintenance will help to maximize performance of the instrument by proactively addressing potential issues during yearly site visits from an experienced field engineer including priority response to service calls. This plan sill minimizes instrument downtime by utilizing factory-trained and qualified engineers to accurately diagnose and resolve system problems, ensuring the MTB staff to work at full capacity
