About this file

This is a Statement of Work for Request for Information (RFI) No. TRN2132227F1 issued by the Broward County Transportation Department (BCT) in Florida regarding video mirror solutions for transit vehicles. The RFI seeks to identify vendors capable of supplying and installing video mirror systems on BCT transit buses for testing and evaluation purposes. Vendors must demonstrate the ability to install video mirrors on a minimum of three transit vehicles: one 2020 or newer Gillig 40-foot low-floor bus, one 2020 or newer New Flyer 60-foot articulated low-floor bus, and one 2020 or newer Motor Coach Industries 45-foot motorcoach. The testing and evaluation period will last up to ninety (90) business days, during which the equipped buses will be operated in normal revenue service to gather operator feedback. Vendors are responsible for all costs associated with the demonstration, including installation, maintenance parts, and equipment necessary to support the video mirrors throughout the testing period.

This RFI is explicitly not a request for pricing or a commitment to purchase. Rather, it is a market survey intended to determine vendor availability and capability, which will inform BCT's decision regarding whether to issue a future formal solicitation for video mirror solutions. All vendor responses will be evaluated at BCT's sole discretion to determine which video mirror products are approved for testing and evaluation. Insurance requirements are noted as pending. Responses are to be submitted electronically through the county's electronic bidding system, with the RFI remaining posted until the stated closing date and time.
