EPR–1 PRIME®

EPR-1 PRIME® is the first emulsified petroleum resin product to be used as a road prime and curing seal.

Formulated in 1989 specifically to bring the paving industry a rapid curing, high performance prime to seal and protect mechanically prepared road surfaces prior to paving.

Manufacturer

D & D Emulsions, Inc.

P.O. Box 1706 270 Park Avenue East Mansfield, OH 44901 Phone: (419) 522-9440 Fax: (419) 522-8606

Benefits of Use:

• Safer

• Save time

• Save money

Features that provide these benefits are:

No Heating Required during storage or application. Safely apply at ambient temperatures.

Fast Cure Time, hours not days allows paving operations to begin sooner reducing idle time for paving crews.

No Sanding or Blotting since EPR-1 PRIME® penetrates and cures quickly, traffic can be placed on the prime protected surface as soon as the curing is complete.

Shipped as a Concentrate to reduce transportation costs and storage requirements.

Stable Emulsion provides long shelf life and reduces waste from broken, un-useable materials.

Environmentally Friendly components of EPR-1 PRIME® do not pose a risk to the environment.

Uses

EPR-1 PRIME® is used as a road prime to seal and protect mechanically prepared road surfaces for paving. EPR-1 PRIME® treated surfaces repel water from rain, sleet and snow that would normally damage the prepared base or sub-base material while maintaining the optimum moisture content in the base.

EPR-1 PRIME® can be used as a curing seal for soil cement and lime treated bases.

EPR-1 PRIME® can be used to reduce soil erosion on ditch banks, shoulders, etc. It will not harm vegetation and can aid germination of seeded areas by holding moisture in the soil while its dark color helps to raise the soil temperature.

EPR-1 PRIME® can be used as a soil stabilizer and dust suppressant. This procedure requires special mixing and application instructions (please call for detailed instructions before this use).
