About this file
This document is a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for EPR-1 PRIME®, a product manufactured by D & D Emulsions, Inc., located in Mansfield, Ohio. The SDS provides comprehensive safety and technical information about the product, which is an asphalt restorative seal, recycling emulsion, and asphalt cold pour crack filler. The document is not a contract itself, but a regulatory compliance document detailing the chemical composition, safety precautions, handling instructions, and potential hazards associated with the product.
The product contains less than 30% asphalt and less than 35% petroleum distillates, with additional proprietary ingredients. It is classified as a brown liquid with a mild petroleum odor and is not considered environmentally hazardous. The product has specific handling recommendations, including using protective eyewear, gloves, and chemical-resistant clothing. The SDS indicates that while the product is not classified as particularly dangerous, it may cause temporary eye or skin irritation and is listed as a potential carcinogen under California Proposition 65. The manufacturer provides a 24-hour emergency contact number through CHEMTREC for any safety-related inquiries.

protective equipment and emergency procedures
Methods and materials for Large Spills: Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Cover containment and cleaning up with plastic sheets to prevent spreading. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers. Following product recovery, flush area with water.
Small Spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Never return spills to original containers for re-use. For waste disposal, see section 13 of the SDS.
Environmental precautions Avoid discharge into drains, water sources or onto the ground.
7. Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Avoid prolonged exposure. Use only in well- ventilated areas.
