About this file

This is a Drug-Free Workplace Certification Form required by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Pet Resources Department for vendors bidding on Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return (TNVR) services in Florida. The form mandates that vendors certify compliance with Florida Statute 287.087 by implementing a comprehensive drug-free workplace program. Vendors must publish statements notifying employees that unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of controlled substances is prohibited in the workplace and specify disciplinary actions for violations. Vendors are required to inform employees about the dangers of drug abuse, the company's drug-free workplace policy, available drug counseling and rehabilitation programs, and applicable penalties. Each employee engaged in providing the commodities or contractual services under bid must receive a copy of the workplace statement and acknowledge their agreement to comply with its terms and notify the employer of any drug-related convictions or guilty pleas within five days of occurrence.

The contract opportunity is for TNVR services for feral or free-roaming cats with an estimated value of $50,000.00 for an eight-month period. Vendors must demonstrate good faith efforts to maintain a drug-free workplace through implementation of the required program and impose sanctions or require participation in drug abuse assistance or rehabilitation programs for employees convicted of drug violations. Submission of the completed and signed Drug-Free Workplace Certification Form is a mandatory requirement for bid consideration on this Hillsborough County contract opportunity.
