b. Remove and protect existing ridge cap and corrugated roofing panels. Panels may be stockpiled in the adjacent areas of the Barn until re-installation.

Notify Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) of condition of lath and if any replacements are needed. C) Furnish/Install Southside 5/8” Rough Sawn Plywood Sheathing
a. Refer to the Bowerman Barn Roof Replacement Sketches for general configuration and notes.
b. Furnish replacement lath as directed by Contracting Officer. Install with (2) 10d
Common at each rafter crossing.
a. Furnish 5/8” DF Rough Sawn Plywood (PR/APA) roof sheathing. The estimated area is 3200 SF (verify) for the southside roof. Pre-stain (medium brown) on rough sawn side prior to installation. Submit samples for Gov’t review and acceptance prior to application. Stain absorption and distribution on the rough sawn surface may require additional effort and material for adequate coverage.
Consult stain manufacturer for suitable application rate.
b. Install pre-stained Rough Sawn plywood facing inward, transverse to rafters and staggered in relation to adjacent rows. Fasteners to be 2” exterior grade star-head deck screws, 6” edge & boundary and 12” in field. Trim sheathing so edges & boundaries are centered on lath members, adjust trim for gable and eve end conditions.
D) Install Gable Side Roof-Edge Corrugated Steel Panel Flashing
a. Use of government furnished property: 24”x96” corrugated steel panels.
b. Rip panels in length direction to 12” widths. The intent is to achieve a nominal 4” overhang along the barge rafter gable edge, and an 8” overlay onto the plywood sheathing. Fold at 90 degrees and flatten the 4” overhang edge to eliminate the corrugation prior to placement.
c. Install with self-tapping gasketed roofing screws to decking/rafter edge.
d. Fasten gable edge 4” overhang intermittently with self-tapping roofing screws at nominally 6’ O.C. or where competent backing is available.
E) Re-Install Southside Corrugated Steel Roof Panels
a. Utilize existing panels and re-install in original configuration. Maintain a minimum 6” lap. If material is short due to lap, notify COR for resolution.
b. Install panels with oversized self-tapping/gasketed roofing screws. Utilize existing screw holes and install additional fasteners in proximity of holes that do not align with framing members, as the case may be.
