The purchase and installation of Push Back Racking for the Northern California Service Center (NCSC) Fire Cache.

General Information

1.0 Scope of Work

The United States Forest Service is seeking a contractor that can provide and install multiple bays of push back racking. Each bay shall be 5 pallets deep by 3 pallets high. Each bay will be approximately 20’ deep x 96”wide x 18’ high for a 2 wide bay, and a total of at least 4 bays. If funding permits the US Forest Service (USFS) may want to purchase more than four (4) bays total. The shelving shall be installed to manufacturers specifications. The system shall be designed to hold approximately 100-120 pallet spaces.

Each pallet space needs to be able to have 2500 lb. max load. Uprights will be heavy duty structural and blue in color with orange or yellow beams. The pushback racking will be replacing some of the standard racking we have in our current warehouse to create more pallet spaces and utilize the space more efficiently.

The space:

These will go in is approximately 1050 sq ft (25’ x 42’) and 18’6” height. Push back racking system has inclined rails and nesting carts set on the rails. To load, each pallet is placed on a free-rolling carriage and then “pushed back” by subsequent pallet loading, exposing the next cart. Each level or lane is independently accessible. Push back racking system shall be installed at the site.

Location:

The delivery and installation site address is: 6101 Airport Rd, Redding CA 96002.

The above drawing is an approximate depiction of the warehouse fire cache. It is only for informational purposes and a rough outline depicting where the desired push-back racking shall be installed.

The above pictures are a visual representation of type of shelving system the USFS is looking to acquire, and have installed by the contractor.

2.0 Background

Push back racking is a high-density solution designed for storing multiple products. Its selectivity and maintenance-free features make back-to-back pallet racking ideal for many warehouse environments. Helps to make the best use of warehouse space without slowing product rotation or increasing handling time.
