The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk Contracting Department, Norfolk, VA 23511-3392, intends to award a sole source, Firm, Fixed-Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite
Quantity (IDIQ) type contract award to Microchip Technology, Inc. for Hydrogen Masers, Cesium Atomic Clocks, and Auxiliary Output Generators (AOG) as a whole, parts, and maintenance in support of the United States Naval
Observatory.
A request for quote (RFQ) will be available for download on or about 16 May 2024 and orders will commence on/around 24 May 2024. The anticipated IDIQ will include a five-year ordering period commencing on 24 May
2024 and continuing up through 23 May 2029. This action will be conducted using the policies and procedures of
FAR Part 12 – Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5 – Simplified Procedures for Certain
Commercial Items.
A request for information (RFI)/sources sought notice (number N0018924Q0073) associated with this solicitation was posted on 13 December 2023 to identify interested sources and to obtain feedback on a draft Performance Work
Statement. As a result of the RFI/sources sought notice, Microchip Technology, Inc. was the only source found to be capable of providing the specific range of supplies and maintenance required by USNO and this requirement will be awarded on a sole source basis. The activity’s small business office concurs with this determination.
The NAICS code applicable to this procurement is 334419. The size standard is 750 (# of employees). The Product
Service Code is 4940. The anticipated award date is no later than 24 May 2024.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, by 12:00 p.m. Eastern time on 16 May 2024, which will be considered by the agency.
