| The existing GRAF equipment is already hooked into an existing iHP application system. A secondary unit is required to decontaminate within the hood and in between cage changes. We cannot introduce another chemical or process. This unit is handheld and stands alone from the existing equipment but provides the same functionality and rapid kill to protect and preserve the gnotobiotic environment. Other technologies do not provide the rapid response and short contact time which is required for using sealed caging. Current unit has become unreliable and requires frequent maintenance, a new/back up unit is required. Existing work cannot be conducted without a unit, and the inability to rapidly replace broken would put animal life in danger since hood unit cannot be used without chemical sterilization. |
