FAR 52.225-5 This Acquisition falls under the Trade Agreements Act (FAR 52.225-5) and the solicitation DOES include FAR Provision: 52.225-6, Trade Agreements Certificate whereby offeror must certify where the end product is manufactured.
These notes and clauses are included so that offerors are fully aware that submitting the place of manufacture of the equipment is a requirement when responding to this solicitation.
By submitting a quote in response to this solicitation, vendor is accepting the terms and conditions listed in this solicitation .
Minimum Requirements - an Equal instrument must include:
The components and equipment shall be a newly manufactured, not used or refurbished, or previously used for demonstration.
Real-time 3D image rendering where each optical slice of a volume being captured renders during the acquisition. Useful for early confirmation that an experiment is progressing well rather than finding out issues with parameter settings at the end of the experiment, so saving the user time by being able to correct sooner.
Microlens based Nipkow spinning disk multi-point confocal with:
a. Borealis Illumination (Patented). An optical technique which ensures optimal illumination uniformity to give best results when capturing tiled and stitched images of large samples, minimising objective dependent dark edge effects at field boundaries to produce a seamless single large image. This also provides highest accuracy for cross-field analysis.
b. Microlenses improve light throughput resulting in the use of lower power, more costeffective lasers, and reduced lifetime costs.
Three imaging modalities of microlens-based spinning-disk confocal, widefield epifluorescence and brightfield in a single benchtop device, and where confocal and widefield modalities utilise the same excitation light source.
• Differential Phase Contrast is a brightfield contrast method developed to help visualise samples with little or no natural contrast. A multi-angular illumination method which produces a 3D-like surface contrast of the sample. This method can be used with plastic vessels, unlike Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) which relies on polarisation which plastic disrupts.
All hardware elements (including lasers) must be incorporated into a single unit
Dimensions cannot exceed: footprint of W x D x H: 505mm x 633mm x 448mm o be able to fit the existing bench space in the lab.
Focus Seek & Lock technology.
• Focus Seek quickly (within 15 to 20 seconds), single software button click, finds the sample focus for the user.
• Focus Lock uses the same mechanism to then lock on to the sample to maintain long term focus during long experiments such as time-lapse and multi-field imaging.
Includes built-in vibration isolation solution. This ensures image stability even when other devices (e.g. mini vortex mixers or centrifuges) are on the same bench.
Includes a joystick for x,y stage movement and focus control. It is much easier and quicker to find and navigate the sample with a joystick rather than other software driven solutions.
Light-tight, compared to other confocal technology that is mounted on the side port of a conventional microscope. Being light-tight there is no need for a specialised dark room or addition of an external black-box which restricts access to the sample on conventional microscope-based confocals.
Compared to point-scanning confocal technology. Faster frame-rates at a like-for-like field size and x,y pixel number (e.g. 2048 x 2000 pixels and field size diagonal of 18.4mm). BC43 is typically 6x faster, often considerably more depending on the imaging experiment and alternative confocal technology being used.
Compared to other point-scanning confocal technology the BC43 has a higher quantum efficiency (QE) detector (peak 82%) compared to ~42%. A higher QE result in:
a. Lower fluorescence signals being detected.
b. Shorter frame rates possible for imaging fast dynamic processes
c. Lower intensity illumination to protect from phototoxicity and photobleaching.
Compared to other spinning disk confocal technology. Larger inter-pinhole spacing (>500um) delivers higher background rejection which results in higher contrast images in thicker samples and the ability to image deeper and maintain higher image quality.
Objective magnification range of between 2x and 100x.
