RFQ#: 05GA0A23Q0049 - Lab Testing Service
Questions and Answers (Q&As)
Question #1: “What form of Vitamin A is required or is it Total Vitamin A?
Answer: GAO is requesting Total Vitamin A as Vitamin A, which could be in retinyl palmitate or retinyl acetate and/or beta carotene for these supplements.
Question #2: On page 21 under ‘Objective’ it states “The accreditation will cover all of the tests specified within this statement of work.”
a. Page 22 under ‘Scope’ it states an empty container will be tested. Our accreditation covers dietary supplements, not empty containers. Does the accreditation requirement apply to the empty containers?
Answer: No, the accreditation does not apply to the empty container. The empty container would be a “blank” to ensure no contamination came from the container for the specified tests in the Statement of Work.
b. NSF does not have Iodine listed on our accreditation. That testing would have to be subcontracted. Please confirm if that would eliminate NSF from consideration or if a SOW deviation would be considered by GAO.
Answer: A subcontractor is acceptable as long as proof is provided that the subcontractor is accredited in that test and will provide the information required for the report (e.g., metrics of method reproducibility), then that would meet the acceptable terms of the SOW.
