GPO _ Rollup Doors Replacement _ RFI#2 Response

1) Please provide the drawings that were shown at the 4/11/24 walkthrough.

Please refer to the drawing attached at the bottom of this document.

2) Will temporary barriers be required at the door openings during the removal and reinstallation process? If so, please provide requirements for the temporary barriers. Most specifically for the doors on the building exterior.

Yes, temporary barriers will be necessary at the door openings. The purpose of these barriers is to ensure safety and to minimize any potential hazards during the replacement process. Here are the requirements for the temporary barriers:

• The barriers must be sturdy and securely anchored to prevent any accidental displacement

• They should extend to a sufficient height to block access to the work area and prevent unauthorized personnel from entering.

• Clear signage indicating the presence of construction work and potential hazards should be displayed on the barriers.

• The barriers should be easily removable to facilitate the movement of equipment and materials during the replacement process.

• Additionally, it's essential to ensure that the barriers comply with any relevant safety regulations and guidelines.

3) Per Evaluation Factor (2), please confirm a fire protection engineer is not required on this project. Please confirm the overhead door shop drawings are requiring a fire protection engineer stamp.

Based on Evaluation Factor (2), a fire protection engineer is not required for this project.

However, for the overhead door shop drawings, it's necessary to have a Licensed

Registered Engineer sign them.

4) Please confirm which doors, if any, are to be fire rated and the required rating.

Please confirm where in the statement of work indicates that all rollup doors on the list are to be fire rated. What is the fire rating?

Sorry for the oversight regarding the fire rating details for the new roll-up doors in the statement of work. In response to RFI#1, GPO has included UFGS 08_33_23 Overhead

Door Specifications Guidance. Please refer to section 2.2.6.1 for information on Fire

Ratings, which specifies the need to provide fire-rated door assemblies compliant with

NFPA 80 Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives. The fire doors must be equipped with necessary hardware, accessories, and automatic closing devices as mandated by NFPA 80.
