About this file

This notice announces the Department of Homeland Security's intent to solicit from a single source for public safety radio network services in the Rio Grande Valley region. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Acquisition Management plans to directly award a contract to the incumbent provider, Rio Grande Valley Communications Group, as they are the only entity that operates a region-wide radio network infrastructure with shared standards allowing communications interoperability between contracted entities. The notice specifies the contracting officer and provides contact information for any questions regarding this planned non-competitive procurement under simplified acquisition procedures. Additionally, the related federal contract opportunity lists the solicitation number and name as Public Safety Radio Network Service - Rio Grande Valley, identifies it as a special notice from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and provides no further salient details.

Notice of Intent to Solicit From a Single Source

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs (ICE) Office of Acquisition Management (OAQ) Irving, TX 75063, intends to solicit from a single source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) to Rio Grande Valley Communications Group (RGVCG) of McAllen, TX for public safety radio network services. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available based on the capabilities of the radio infrastructure of the RGVCG, which was established as a region-wide public safety radio network, operating under shared standards, allowing for communications interoperability between contracted entities.
