This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.

NAVARI IT/IM Lakehurst has an installed and production operational EMC Clariion CX500 Storage Area Network (SAN) that requires additional drives to expand. The U.S Navy has an existing EMC part # CX-2G72-500U installed and require guarantee of compatibility to insure appropriate LUN (logical unit) creation and usage. EMC part # CX-2G72-500U is the only known fiber channel disk drive guarantee of interoperability and reliability for installing in the fiber channel drive array enclosures and the controlling subsystems. The part number includes rail enclosure plus array latch mechanism. Replacement of the existing SAN, array enclosure, and subsystem would be cost prohibitive. Additionally, EMC requires that all parts and components installed into EMC storage arrays be manufactured by EMC in order to prevent a void in warranty.
For the reasons mentioned, any attempts to replace other than EMC disk drive would cost the client further financial expense and detrimentally affect their mission.
Award shall be made based on cost and non cost factors, price and delivery date. Price is more important than delivery date.
Delivery: Specify best possible earliest delivery.
Offerors are expected to examine this entire RFQ and complete all required attachments. Failure to do so will be considered non responsive and will not be considered for award.
For additional information concerning this RFQ, please contact Rick.Yao@gsa.gov at 212-264-8345.
