Requirements / Specification Document
TITLE: Rydberg Laser System
Requesting Laboratory / Division / Group:
Communications Technology Laboratory Radio Frequency Technology Division Radio Frequency Fields Group (672.02)
General Statement of Need:
The RF Fields Group 672.02 requires a 780 nm single frequency diode laser capable of delivering 2 Watts or more along with a 480 nm laser with an output of at least 1 Watt. The high power 780 nm laser will enable cold atom trapping for Rubidium atoms, and the 480 nm laser allows excitation to Rydberg states for detecting blackbody radiation. These two laser systems will work with each other and the existing Toptica Photonics laser systems in the laboratory.
