About this file

This is a structural engineering repair plan document for the Greene County Schools Field House Repair project located at 234 Monroe Dr., Standardsville, VA 22973. The scope of work involves structural reinforcement of a failing CMU bearing wall on the plan north to address lateral earth pressures with hydraulic loads and axial loading. The project includes specific requirements for reinforcing existing masonry, including installation of #7 bars at 32" on center, fully grouting all cells below grade, and following a prescribed 8-step repair process from excavation through backfilling.

The technical specifications require 4000 psi concrete for footings and foundation walls, with detailed requirements for CMU work conforming to NCMA and ACI 530 specifications. The design parameters include 100 psf gym floor load, 20 psf roof load, 30 psf ground snow load, and 110 mph ultimate wind speed. The document includes detailed structural drawings showing reinforcement details, corner reinforcing plans, and sections with specific installation requirements for rebar placement, grouting, and waterproofing systems. The work must comply with 2021 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) standards and appears to have a completion date of February 7, 2025.
