HSI Phoenix requirements
192121VPH00000001- SAC Phoenix Firing range contract
1st Quarter 2020 (January – March 2020) HSI Phoenix had 30 range days scheduled.
2nd Quarter 2020 (April – June 2020) HSI Phoenix had 42 range days scheduled.
3rd Quarter 2020 (July – September 2020) HSI Phoenix had 25 range days scheduled.
4th Quarter 2020 (October – December 2020) HSI Phoenix had 29 range days scheduled.
We average 15 agents per day. Some agents come for additional practice and training in additional to their scheduled qualification.
Averaging 31.25 range days and 15 agents per day a quarter.
• HSI Phoenix needs a range that can accommodate a minimum of 25 days a quarter with the ability to schedule up to 45 days a quarter.
• We need the ability to schedule on short notice for make-up sessions.
• We need an area to store our 40-foot shipping container, a 10-foot ammunition storage container, a
15-foot trailer, and an ATV.
• We need access to classrooms, mat-rooms, and an auditorium, once or twice a quarter.
• We need access to a virtual reality training system for scenario and judgement-based training.
• We need the ability to use multiple ranges during some days in the quarter. Approximately, 5-6 days each quarter that we use multiple ranges in one day.
• We need access to a live fire shoot-house.
• We need access to weapons cleaning facilities.
• We need access to clean bathroom and washing facilities.
• We need access to clean water and ice.
• We need a range that is secure, alarmed and has limited or no access by the public to training areas.
Some of the training we do is classified and cannot be released to the public; otherwise, it could compromise our mission and endanger our agents.
• We need a range that is within the local commute area, preferably within 25 miles of the main office at
4041 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85012.
• Range must have a 100-yard range.
• Range must allow draw from the holster, which is required for qualification.
• Range must have a cleaning facility.
• Range must allow rifle caliber to be shot on the range.
• Range must allow rapid fire on the range.
• Range must allow transitioning from rife to pistol and back.
• Range must allow movement on the range.
