SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

1.0 Salient Characteristics: The salient characteristics for the Digital Area Monitors and Ion Chambers equipment are:

a) Digital Area Monitor Description Digital area monitor (Amphenol connector with DA1-x detectors)

Display Type Alpha-numeric, 12-segment high visibility LED

Linearity ±10 (using dead-time compensation) %

Voltage 450 to 2500VDC

Weight (English) 5 lb.

Weight (Metric) 2.3kg

Alarms User-selectable over entire operating range (both Alert and High Alarm)

Operating Temperature (Metric) -40° to +60°C

Range Background levels to 10000R/h (0.1µSv/h to 100Sv/h) over any four decades using various standard Thermo Scientific detectors Threshold 0.3 to 60mV (Upper and Lower Thresholds computer controlled)

b) Ion Chambers Mechanical: Size is 9.5 in. high x 3.9 in. wide x 4.85 in. deep, Weight is 2.75 lbs. with check source, and ion chamber is composed of stainless steel, 30 mg/cm2, constructed of with theoretical crushing point of 15 psig.

Sensitivity: Four consecutive decades between 0.1 mR/h and up to 10,000 R/h. Ion chamber is compensated for roentgen vs. gamma response of 20% from 40 keV to 2.5 MeV.

Humidity: Ion Chamber will operate from 5% to 100% with intact and fresh desiccant.

Voltage: Low is +12V at 85 mA with 200 mA at startup with 400 mA for digital systems, High is adjustable between 600V and 2900 V.

Output: Rated at 3.4 VDC (nominal) for maximum cable length of 1000 ft. (305 m).
