UNSPSC 95121608: Underground railway station

A place where underground trains stop and congregate so passengers can embark and disembark

UNSPSC 95121608 Underground railway station is a Commodity code that does not match the recent state and local procurement activity tagged under it. The source contains no relevant solicitations for underground railway station construction or related transportation infrastructure. Instead, the opportunities record includes civil construction projects such as building additions and renovations (senior centers, fire stations, detention facilities), bridge replacements, site utilities, and commercial interior work across Florida, Georgia, Texas, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and North Carolina, none of which align with the code's nominal scope of underground transit station work.

The code shows little relevant recent activity for business development purposes. State and local procurement offices have tagged unrelated projects—restroom renovations, parking lot construction, HVAC replacements, and demolition services—under this taxonomy entry, suggesting either a data classification error or misalignment between the code definition and purchasing practice in this sample period. Firms pursuing underground railway or rapid-transit infrastructure work should verify the correct UNSPSC codes used by transit authorities and state departments of transportation before targeting opportunities, as this code's recent record does not support active procurement in that market segment.
