UNSPSC 85892735: Beam radiation of lung using heavy particles (protons, ions)

This classification denotes the group of activities that yields a radiation therapy intervention or procedure of beam radiation of lung using heavy particles (protons, ions)beam radiation of lung using heavy particles (protons, ions). This intervention or procedure is listed in the World Health Organization's International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems or ICD-10 as code DB024ZZ

UNSPSC 85892735 Beam radiation of lung using heavy particles (protons, ions), a Commodity code, shows little relevant recent activity in state and local procurement. The single posted opportunity under this code—Boswell, Mississippi's RFQP 3382-26-R-RFQP-00005-V01, posted April 2, 2026 with a due date of April 24, 2026—solicits an occupational therapist position, work plainly unrelated to the code's scope of specialized oncology radiation therapy services.

The mismatch between the code's clinical focus (heavy-particle beam radiation for lung cancer treatment) and the actual procurement (occupational therapy staffing) suggests either a tagging error in the state or local system or a code that sees minimal direct purchasing activity at the state and local level. Without additional representative solicitations reflecting the code's nominal scope, no geographic concentration, issuing-body pattern, or contracting trend can be reliably characterized from the available source.
