UNSPSC 82111602: Resume writing services

UNSPSC 82111602 Resume Writing Services is a Commodity code that does not reflect the actual scope of work recently solicited by state and local governments under this classification. The recent opportunities tagged to this code involve public communications consulting, grant writing and development, educational content editing, employment program design, workforce training support, translation and interpretation services, and instructional materials review—none of which constitute resume writing services. The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and actual procurement activity suggests either systematic misclassification in the state and local procurement taxonomy or that this code has drifted significantly from its intended use. A review of the most recent tagged opportunities reveals no solicitations for traditional resume writing, career coaching, CV preparation, or related personal career-document services from any state department, county, city, school district, transit authority, or special-purpose district.

Because the source provides no relevant recent opportunities in resume writing services, the code shows little actionable procurement activity for vendors specializing in that service line. Firms pursuing state and local work under this code should verify their own classification against actual current solicitations and consider realignment to codes more accurately reflecting the types of writing and communications services government buyers are currently procuring—such as technical writing, grant development, public affairs consulting, or workforce development support. The absence of genuine resume-writing opportunities makes this code unsuitable for business development focus at this time.
