UNSPSC 78102001: Satellite launch services

UNSPSC 78102001 Satellite launch services (Commodity) shows minimal relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The code nominally covers orbital launch and payload-deployment services, but the recent opportunities tagged under it are predominantly market-research inquiries and tangential education purchases that do not represent active satellite launch procurement.

The Texas Space Commission posted two nonbinding RFIs in August 2026—one soliciting information on shared-user space propulsion test and evaluation facilities (RFI 35826004, response deadline September 14, 2026) and another seeking thermal-vacuum testing capabilities within Texas (RFI 3582601, response deadline September 11, 2026)—both framed as feasibility and market research with no committed funding or procurement obligation. A separate opportunity from the School Board of Seminole County, Florida (procurement 25260122S-VG, response deadline June 9, 2026) covered a sole-source purchase of five tonnes of Anorthosite Highlands Simulant for educational use, an ancillary research material unrelated to launch services. A Clay County, Florida waste-container IFB (2526110, response deadline September 3, 2026) appears to have been misclassified under this code and involves grapple and roll-off services for solid waste management, not satellite operations. No active RFP, RFQ, or IFB for satellite launch services appears in the recent-opportunities block, and the geographic spread reflects only Texas and Florida activity in exploratory-stage state-space-commission and educational contexts rather than operational procurement demand.
