UNSPSC 77101909: Recycling plant site investigation

UNSPSC 77101909 Recycling plant site investigation (Commodity) covers environmental and compliance assessment work at waste and recycling facilities, though recent state and local solicitations under this code show limited direct alignment with the nominal scope. The opportunities being solicited instead reflect plan review and inspection services for building compliance, and environmental testing protocols for herbicide contamination—neither of which maps cleanly to recycling plant site investigation as typically understood. State and local procurement under this code appears to draw issuing bodies across municipal and county government, including city planning departments and county environmental or parks agencies, though the recent activity is too sparse to characterize a dominant buyer profile or functional pattern.

Geographic activity is limited and scattered. Boulder County Parks and Open Space (Colorado) issued an RFI on May 4, 2026 (due May 15, 2026) seeking PFAS and PFOS evaluation methodologies for herbicide testing, and the City of Union City in Fulton County (Georgia) posted an RFP on May 13, 2026 (due June 10, 2026) for plan review and inspection services. Neither opportunity aligns substantively with recycling plant site investigation. The code shows little recent relevant activity, and the mismatch between the nominal scope and the work actually posted under this UNSPSC suggests either miscoding at the source or a code used primarily in other procurement contexts that do not appear in current state and local notice streams.
