UNSPSC 71161605: Oilfield consultancy services

Services to provide expert or professional advice for the oil and gas industry

UNSPSC 71161605 Oilfield consultancy services is a Commodity code that shows little relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The two most recent opportunities posted under this code—Rob Sullivan Park irrigation system improvements (City of DeBary, Florida, IFB) and armored car services (School Board of Polk County, Florida, ITB)—are unrelated to oilfield consultancy work. The irrigation project involved installing Hunter brand controllers and flow meters for park irrigation, and the armored car solicitation sought secure courier services for financial deposits and confidential materials between school facilities and banks. Neither opportunity reflects the oilfield consulting scope the code nominally covers.

The mismatch between the code's stated scope and the actual work being solicited suggests either miscoding by the issuing jurisdictions or that state and local oilfield consultancy demand is not currently visible in public procurement notices. Absent relevant recent opportunities, this code does not present a clear targeting opportunity for firms in the oilfield services space.
