UNSPSC 71112001: Cased hole formation sampling testing services

Services to acquire data that provides samples of the formation used to predict solids properties, such as asphaltenes, wax and hydrates, which need specific facility handling, separation and disposal through a cased hole.

UNSPSC 71112001 Cased hole formation sampling testing services is a Commodity code that does not reflect the scope of work actually being solicited under it by state and local bodies. The recent opportunities tagged with this code span landfill gas collection system construction, municipal irrigation system installation, digester gas utilization projects, and city manager recruitment services — none of which involves cased hole formation sampling or formation testing. The code shows little relevant recent activity aligned with its nominal scope.

The mismatch between the code's technical definition and the procurement activity tagged under it suggests either systematic miscoding by issuing bodies or a data-classification error in the opportunities dataset. State and local procurement professionals evaluating this code should verify the actual commodity classification against issuing-body documentation before committing bid resources, as the opportunities on record do not represent the intended market.
