UNSPSC 70141710: Field crop entomology

UNSPSC 70141710 Field crop entomology is a Commodity code that in recent state and local solicitations maps to vegetation management and irrigation system services rather than traditional agronomic pest control. The code appears in municipal public works and utility contexts where state and local agencies are buying software-as-a-service platforms to predict and manage vegetation growth on electric distribution systems, as well as on-call labor and materials for irrigation installation and maintenance across municipal facilities. The issuing bodies include municipal utilities and public works departments within city governments, reflecting a shift toward operational efficiency and predictive asset management rather than field-level crop pest management.

Activity in this code is concentrated in Georgia, with recent opportunities posted by Leon County (vegetation management SaaS for electric system trimming), Columbus Consolidated Government (on-call irrigation installation and maintenance services across the municipality, with a two-year contract term and three optional renewal periods), and the City of College Park (a Request for Information on public works operational assessment). The vegetation management solicitation from Leon County (RFP10126RR) closed October 13, 2026, while Columbus Consolidated Government's irrigation services RFP (PE70662NONST2027000000124) closed September 30, 2026, requesting both Primary and Secondary contractors to ensure service continuity on an as-needed basis during normal and after-hours operations.
